Twitter puts dark mode for Android in tests

Dark mode hit Twitter seven months ago for iOS operating system users. Now the new feature is finally available to Android users of the social network. Even so, it's still an alpha version, meaning it's a guest testing program for Twitter.

Therefore, other users will still have to wait a little longer before receiving "Lights Out" on their devices . The big difference from the new mode is for OLED screens, which were not so common when Twitter introduced dark mode to its app in 2016.

With the new display technology, 'black' areas of the screen are actually turned off. This allows the user to gain a few more minutes - or even hours - of smartphone battery life.
