UMIDIGI X Review: The King of Screen Fingerprint

UMIDIGI is advancing rapidly in technological terms, bringing in 2019 several new products and releases with always affordable prices. Certainly, one of the biggest highlights of the brand this year was the UMIDIGI X smartphone. As many know, this handset aims to deliver good performance, above average cameras and a fingerprint sensor built into the display. But is he really good? Check out our review!

Canvas and finishing
One of the biggest challenges for smartphone manufacturers is to be able to develop a product with a quality screen and finish without costing them too much. In this sense, we can say that UMIDIGI has achieved this goal. By taking the UMIDIGI X out of the box, we can take pleasure in holding a premium finish product that is beautifully built.

Standing out from most handsets in its price range, the UMIDIGI X comes equipped with a 6.35 inch AMOLED display. In testing, we found that your display features vivid colors and excellent levels of brightness and contrast. In addition, the fact that the screen is only HD + didn't bother, as the advanced quality of AMOLED technology was able to deliver higher quality than a standard IPS.

Performance and Hardware
Nowadays, finding a smartphone that delivers speed and good hardware at an affordable price seems to be very difficult. However, UMIDIGI X was very good at fulfilling its role in this regard. It comes equipped with a MediaTek Helio P60 processor (4 × 2.0 GHz ARM Cortex A73 + 4 × 2.0 GHz ARM Cortex A53) along with the fast LPDDR4X RAM.

In practical tests, the smartphone did very well when opening applications, and play games with ease. The Mali G72 GPU has done a great job as we never feel choking or locking at any time. Finally, UMIDIGI also added 128GB internal storage to X, which is an incredible space to store many games and applications without the need for a microSD card.

Having a larger battery means you can play for a longer period without having to charge your smartphone frequently. In this sense, the UMIDIGI X stands out with its large 4150mAh battery. In our tests, the device was able to fully charge in 2:10 minutes via the 18W fast charger.

In our tests, the device was able to play 30 minutes of high resolution video along with another 30 minutes of Free Fire losing only 11% of its load, which is surprising. Plus, the AMOLED display promises more power savings, making the battery more than a day out of power.

In terms of camera, UMIDIGI X stands out with its three rear sensors. Detailing each sensor, we have a 48MP + 8MP ultra wide + 5MP bokeh head. Note that this 48MP sensor also has f / 1.79 aperture, great for taking your pictures even in low light.

In practical tests, we noticed that the smartphone did very well in photos taken under good lighting, giving good colors and good detail capture. Already in dimly lit environments, we notice a drop in quality, although the results are still acceptable considering the price range of the device.

Is it worth investing?
Undoubtedly, UMIDIGI is seeking not only to catch up but also to outperform most of its competitors in no time. By testing the UMIDIGI X, we can see that the Chinese manufacturer has greatly improved compared to handsets launched in the past. The UMIDIGI X has proven to be a well-balanced handset, offering excellent build quality, above-average cameras and battery and acceptable performance for even the most demanding. Best of all is its price, where it can be found on the manufacturer 's official website for about $ 750.
