OnePlus Security Breach Exposes User Data

OnePlus, a Chinese company known for the most affordable high-end smartphones (the famous flagship killers), today revealed that its system has been breached, resulting in revealed customer information. Names, contact numbers, emails and addresses were exposed and stopped in the possession of third parties not related to the company.

According to the brand, only a small number of customers were affected, and in addition, it was reported that bank details, payment information, passwords and credit card data were not exposed. Remember that there was a much worse failure last year, where even card data was released.

OnePlus discovered this while its security team was doing monitoring work. Immediately, your employees worked to strengthen security and stop the attack, as well as enhancing security to eliminate other vulnerabilities.

All impacted users have been notified by email. So if you own a device, or have ordered a mobile phone from OnePlus and received an email from OnePlus, that means you have been affected. If not, then it is safe. Either way, neither case requires you to do anything. The company is working with the authorities to find out those responsible for the attack.

This security breach implies stealing customers' personal data for companies to spam / email spam to their email address. Again, according to the company, even if you were affected, no bank details were stolen. OnePlus's security team has apologized on its online forum, and says it is working to prevent something like this from happening in the future.

OnePlus 7T Pro 5G McLaren Announced as a T-Mobile Exclusive

The OnePlus 7T Pro and OnePlus 7T Pro Edition McLaren were announced nearly two weeks ago in London. However, OnePlus did not announce a 5G version of the device, as it did with OnePlus 7 Pro. When asked why there was no 5G version in an interview, Pete Lau stated that he did not see a sufficient opportunity to launch a second 5G device.

Now this opportunity seems to have come shortly, as the OnePlus 7T Pro 5G McLaren Edition was announced today. This is a 5G version of McLaren Edition and will be available in the US as a T-Mobile exclusive.

This is definitely exciting news for OnePlus fans on the Magenta network, as OnePlus 7T Pro and OnePlus 7T Pro McLaren Edition are not sold in the US.

T-Mobile says the new OnePlus 7T Pro 5G McLaren Edition will take advantage of its 5G network that uses the 600MHz spectrum. The 5G network is expected to be available to about 200 million people in the US by the end of the year.

The phone shares the same specifications as the standard McLaren Edition , but adds a Snapdragon X55 5G modem . Thus, it has a 6.67 inch AMOLED QHD + curved display, a Snapdragon 855+ processor , 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of UFS 3.0 storage. A 48MP + 16MP + 8MP triple camera setup is located on the back of the device, while a 16MP pop-up selfie camera is available for selfies. The phone also has an on-screen fingerprint scanner running Android 10 and comes with a 4085mAh battery with Warp Charge 30T support.

The OnePlus and T-Mobile has not announced the price and its release date, but pre-booking has begun.

OnePlus 5G dual-mode phone to be released by the end of the year

The OnePlus is among the first to launch a 5G smartphone with the release of OnePlus 7 Pro 5G side of the OnePlus 7 earlier this year. Although the premium smartphone manufacturer has announced the OnePlus 7T and 7T Pro recently, both models did not come with support 7T Pro.

OnePlus 5G dual-mode phone to be released by the end of the year

Now in a surprise twist, OnePlus founder / CEO Liu Zuohu has hinted that the company will launch a dual-mode 5G phone before the end of this year. The CEO stated this in an interview in which he also gave reasons why OnePlus 7 Pro 5G was not launched in China by stating that it is exclusively for overseas markets. Thus, the next dual-mode 5G phone will be launched in China and maybe exclusive to the Chinese market.

Liu Zuohu did not disclose an exact date when the device will be launched or the name adopted. But he said it will be unveiled in the fourth quarter of 2019. One thing is certain, however, the device will be a premium phone model, as the CEO also added that the 5G era will not depend on next-generation 5G smartphones to win sales. market.

The most prominent part of the disclosure is that the device supports non-autonomous (NSA) and autonomous (SA) modes for 5G. Non-standalone (NSA) and standalone (SA) are the two 5G ranges that communication service providers can choose to transition from 4G to next-generation mobile technology. The first 5G networks to be implemented are NSA deployments that focus on enhanced mobile broadband to provide greater data bandwidth and secure connectivity. NSA mode implies that 5G networks will be aided by existing 4G infrastructure. Therefore, service providers wishing to be the first to offer 5G speeds will start with the NSA and, once 5G coverage is established, it will implement standalone 5G.

In addition, OnePlus suggests that the 5G phone will most likely use the Qualcomm SM7250 processor, which is not a top SoC. The processor is a mid-range chipset but comes with a 5G modem.

You may need to get more details to get an idea of what the 5G phone has in terms of hardware. But we expect the device to come at cheaper prices than the OnePlus 7 Pro 5G.

Here's a Chinese OnePlus 7T ad starring Robert Downey Jr

An announcement for OnePlus 7T was posted on YouTube from Robert Downey Jr.'s Weibo account. This video is starring Robert himself. The announcement features Robert Downey Jr., who is not new in starring OnePlus ads.

It starts with actor Robert Downey Jr. coming out of a set for 5 minutes. As he leaves the stage, he connects the OnePlus Bullets and OnePlus 7T and begins enjoying his music before being caught by a touring group who record it with their phones ... OnePlus.

The video quickly becomes a dance party until the producer comes looking for Downey who is missing on the set. We can't say the ad was very informative, but at least it shows the name of the device being advertised.

This was not the first time Robert Downey Jr. made commercials for a smartphone, it also featured ads for the HTC One M9.

The OnePlus 7T went on sale in Europe on October 10, while US customers can order them from the OnePlus website with orders to be shipped on October 17.

OnePlus 7T Pro: Leak confirms Snapdragon 855+ and Android 10

OnePlus 7T Pro

Everybody knows the OnePlus strategy. Every year it makes two releases, a top of the line mid-year and its most powerful version, with the "T", usually near the end of the year.

Of course, soon after the release of OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro, rumors began about their successors.

We are expected to have an event in New Delhi on September 26 to announce the new smartphones. But, as always, upcoming OnePlus models keep popping up in several leaks that eventually anticipate their design and features.

We have already seen, for example, some renderings of OnePlus 7T and OnePlus 7T Pro. And we even know several specifications of the first. Now is the turn of the second, the most advanced, which, it seems, will not bring big changes compared to its predecessor.

Last week OnLeaks, one of the mobile industry's best-known leakers, published some renderings that showed the possible final design of OnePlus 7T Pro and 7T Pro McLaren Edition.

Unlike the OnePlus 7T, the Pro model would not have the circular lens module, in fact virtually nothing would change its design, remaining the same as the OnePlus 7 Pro and its McLaren edition.

These images show a rear camera with triple sensor module aligned with the LED flash and the OnePlus logo.

Notched screen with front pop-up camera in the upper left corner. According to OnLeaks, the panel would have 6.67 inches, 2K + resolution and 90 Hz refresh rate, just like the OnePlus 7 Pro.

In addition, another well-known industry leaker, Ishan Agarwal, tweeted information that corroborates OnLeaks, saying the OnePlus 7T Pro will be very similar to its predecessor in design and technical specifications.

But it will bring Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ processor and will use Android 10 as a system . We know that the performance of 855+ is superior to 855 mainly in the GPU performance part.

He also claims that the OnePlus 7T Pro will come with a slightly larger 4.080mAh battery and a 30W Warp Charge fast charging that will allow the phone battery to charge from 0 to 100% in just 65 minutes.

Both new smartphones are expected to be running Android 10 already.

On the software side, OnePlus 7T Pro will appear to offer a new macro mode, support for HEVC format video recording and Hybrid Image Stabilization.

As confirmed by the previous OnePlus 7T Pro leak, the smartphone will be available in a new color, Haze Blue.

OnePlus will also offer OnePlus 7T Pro McLaren Edition, with a textured pattern on the back and orange details on the sides and bottom.

OnePlus 7 And 7 Pro Can Receive Android 10 On The Same Day As The Google Pixel Line

OnePlus 7, OnePlus, Phones, SMARTPHONES,

OnePlus may be preparing a pleasant surprise for the owners of their new smartphones. That's because there are indications that the Chinese may release the update with Android 10 the same day that Google begins distributing the software for the Pixel line.

The information was commented by a senior OnePlus support member in a conversation with a user. First, he confirmed that Android 10 will be distributed by Google next Tuesday (3).

Shortly thereafter, the OnePlus representative says the company works hard and wants to "provide an update on the same day as the release of Android 10".

For now, OnePlus has not yet confirmed the information provided by its official support. Still, it would be interesting to see the company "stand out" in the crowd by releasing this update the same day Google officially distributes Android 10.

It is also noteworthy that China is part of the software development program . As a result, OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro could already officially test Android 10, and this may be making a big difference in a possible early release.

However, it is still unclear how the company will be able to optimize Oxygen OS so quickly. Thus, we warn that everything should be considered as just another rumor.

The Android brands that most update their phones

When we talk about Android , inevitably, we talk about fragmentation . Fragmentation happens when the latest version of Android is updated and OEMs (ie Samsung , Huawei etc) take a long time to update their devices to the latest version of Android. On the other hand, iOS doesn't have this problem because Apple controls both the hardware and software of the iPhone.

There are currently thousands of terminals that use Google's operating system, and it's simply impossible for all manufacturers to update them. Nevertheless, there are always brands that manage the upgrade process better than others, and interestingly, some of them are neither the best-selling nor the most popular.

Today we are going to talk about the Android companies that best update their phones , know where to look for a long term terminal with a software update.

The Android Brands That Best Upgrade Your Smartphones

Google

The Android brands that most update their phones

Of course, Google is the company that best updates Android terminals . Having a Pixel device means that the update will arrive as soon as it is available, with no waiting times . In addition to having three years of guaranteed updates each month, the most current patch is received without delay , available for download at the beginning of the month.

Pixels are the most similar to an iPhone we have on Android, and their support is spectacular. If the goal is always to be updated, it is the best equipment to have , although some other brands get very close update times.

Essential

The Android brands that most update their phones

To the surprise of many, Essential is the independent Google company that best updates their smartphones on Android . Essentials are literally updated at the same time as Google Pixel and receive security patches at the same time or even earlier. Once we find out that a Pixel is up to date, there is an Essential to do that at the same time, excellent.

Nokia

The Android brands that most update their phones

Nokia is one of the brands that complies with monthly patches and updates, although not at the same speed as the previous two OEMs. Currently, your devices have the beta version of Android 9 , waiting PDA version end that should not take long.

Keep in mind that Nokia sells really cheap handsets and made sure that its entire catalog would receive Android 9, something no manufacturer has ventured to do yet.

Oneplus

The Android brands that most update their phones

OnePlus surprised a few months ago by announcing that its smartphones would be upgraded for three years, for example OnePlus 3 and 3T, born on Android 6.0, will have the latest version of the system, Abdroid 9.0 . A giant step forward that puts them in an enviable position.

Currently, OnePlus 6 already has its second beta of Android 9, awaiting the final release, which is expected by the end of this month or early next.

Xiaomi

The Android brands that most update their phones

Xiaomi is not the first to upgrade to the latest version of Android, but is the only one to upgrade its personalization layer across its full range , even on 3- or 4-year-old terminals. This year, it looks like the Treble project is playing its part, and the Xiaomi Mi 8 and Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S already have Android 9 beta, as it should be.

You can have an updated Android , and such fragmentation need not be a problem as long as efforts are made to combat it.

OnePlus 7 Pro gets it done unheard of in the new update!

OnePlus 7 Pro

OnePlus has been sending a strong message to the competition. Not only has it developed a powerful smartphone but it has been focusing heavily on updates. An example of this is that the OnePlus 7 Pro has been unpublished and has just received the August security patch, even before August 1 in some regions.

OnePlus 7 Pro gets it done unheard of in the new update! Know everything!

This is indeed very rare for the vast majority of manufacturers. Even Google releases its updates to the Pixels on the first Monday of every month. In most cases, it takes several weeks for the security patch for this month to be distributed by the manufacturers. However, this did not happen with OnePlus who may have become the first manufacturer to make the August security patch available for their smartphones.
OnePlus 7 Pro

The update is an over-the-air (OTA) update and thus takes OxygenOS to version 9.5.11. In addition to important security fixes, it also includes adaptive brightness optimizations, “screen sensitivity to touches during gameplay” as well as accidental touches to the notification bar during a call (the latter is extremely important for older models). Google's suite of mobile services has been updated to version from June, and “general bug fixes and improvements” have also appeared.
The release will be phased as so far only few users have received this release. However, it is expected to reach all devices within days if there are no bugs.

The OnePlus 7 Pro has top specifications . It has a 6.7 inch curved AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1440 x 3120 pixels. It is also the company's first smartphone to come with a 1440p QHD + display. However, a 90Hz refresh rate also stands out. This is 50% faster than the rate found on most smartphones and provides users with a smoother experience, especially when playing games.

We have a triple camera setup on the back and a 16-megapixel selfie pop-up camera. Available configurations include 6 GB of memory with 128 GB of storage and 12 GB of memory with 256 GB of storage. We also have a 4000mAh battery that keeps everything running. At the chipset level, the OnePlus 7 Pro bets on the latest Qualcomm processor.

OnePlus explains why we should put smartphones aside

OnePlus, Phones, News, Technology, Apps,

Even if it's only for 20 minutes. It is absolutely necessary to rest our eyes and brain before the constant bombardment of the screens. From smartphones to computers, will we be unable to “take our eyes off”? The answer is a resounding yes and so came Zen Mode with the OnePlus 7.

The Chinese technology explains why it is necessary to this contention mode.
In recent months we have seen a new focus on key technology. Something across Android and iOS manufacturers, such as Apple and Google. In fact, both presented their solutions to make it easier for the user to moderate the use of smartphones.

Our dependence on the screens of smartphones, tablets, computers…

Although it is not possible to completely cut their use it is necessary to moderate it. To do this, with the generation of smartphones OnePlus 7 the company introduced Zen Mode. A software mode that essentially locks the mobile device for 20 minutes for the user to "catch air".

In other words, Zen Mode is a detox solution included with OxygenOS. That is, a little software "trick" that, when activated, periodically forces us to land mobile devices. All this in order not to neglect our greetings, but also to pay attention to other human beings.

We believe technology should serve you, not the other way around. So we start thinking about this topic, digital balance. For this, we closely analyze the type of use that people give to their smartphones, also listening to their greatest discontent with them. We don't want to implement one more function in software just because we can do it. Yes, we want to bring improvements to everyday life and solve real-life problems.

Zen Mode was introduced with the OnePlus 7 smartphone generation

Throughout its publication on the official OnePlus forum, the company touched on several important points. One of them were the different implementations that were even considered for Zen Mode. One was a persistent notification, a stubborn reminder to the user to land the smartphone.

OnePlus, Phones, News, Technology, Apps,

Still, the solution chosen turned out to be more discreet. Something that aims to avoid more frustration with our Android smartphones and, above all, less a noisy notification. So we have Zen Mode that you can now enjoy OnePlus 7 smartphones, and are also reaching others.

OnePlus also points out that it has developed Zen Mode according to the requests and feedback of its users. It did so, therefore, to try to mitigate the overuse of smartphones. So we have a simple user interface, some important metrics as well as profuse incentives.
A reality across the Android and iOS sphere

However, OnePlus' solution is more compelling than, for example, Screen Time on iOS devices. Note that Zen Mode, when active, literally locks the Android smartphone for a 20-minute interval. But how did the Chinese company come to this value for a mandatory break?

That decision was also justified. According to OnePlus, 20 minutes is the ideal time interval for the user to relax. More than that, it would be a frustrating or demotivating experience. Less than 20 minutes and you would not have had time to relax your body and mind.

OnePlus, Phones, News, Technology, Apps,

Once Zen Mode is active, the user can only make emergency calls and take photos or videos. This way you will not miss an important moment and you will be able to store the memories and, if need be, to make some emergency contact.

Still, OnePlus recognizes that Zen Mode is not perfect. By the way, it classifies it as a “work in progress”. What's more, the company has announced that this mode will also reach older Android smartphones such as the OnePlus 5.

Do you find your daily use of mobile devices excessive?
